The HR Operations Specialist will impact the full employment lifecycle at BitMEX.  They will serve as a critical member of a small yet impactful People team that wears many hats and pivots from one discipline to the next on a constant basis.  This is a hands-on role and the work will span various HR administrative responsibilities, including support for employee relations, off-boarding, benefits/open enrollment, leaves/ workers’ comp, HRIS administration, immigration/visa work, performance management processes as well as training and development. This role requires someone who thrives in a diverse, fast paced environment where grit & resilience is valued as highly as operational excellence.  The HR Ops Specialist will serve as our employees’ point of contact for inquiries while also coordinating the day to day needs of the HR ops function.

 

In this role you will:

  • Conduct Benefits Orientation sessions & process new hire paperwork, e-Verify & I9 documentation
  • Coordinate annual Benefits Open Enrollment and act as the point person for employees’ questions and issue
  • Manage the migration from TriNet to new HRIS. Project manage the implementation of our updated HRIS
  • Maintain the HRIS and track all employment changes. Process employment verifications.
  • Ensure that personnel files and records are maintained in accordance with all legal requirements
  • Support the Performance review process and Compensation and merit reviews
  • Administer leaves of absence and unemployment/disability forms
  • Manage employees termination / off-boarding process to ensure a smooth transition
  • Own immigration and visa process
  • Support training and development programs

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar Human Resources and Operations role
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills: builds rapport and credibility with others easily, displays patience, humor and helpfulness at all times. Exhibit integrity with everything that you do
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills; accuracy is essential
  • Impeccable judgment with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Strong technical skills and experience with Google office applications, Greenhouse, TriNet and other relevant systems
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment requiring great time management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments
  • A reputation for responsiveness, thoroughness and reliability
  • Experience in startup culture; comfortable with ambiguity but self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, solving problems, and prioritizing efforts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of stake holders
  • Background in HR operations and project management with a passion for service and creating processes that best serve the business and the employees.
  • Experience handling a variety of employee-related issues including benefits, workers comp, leaves of absence, and relocation with strong HR sensibility and critical thinking
